My quad is having issues intermittently...

sat for about 6 mos with hardly any starting in there. Got it out and wouldn’t start without starter fluid sprayed in the air filter. A day full of riding and just having it idling in the yard. Wouldn’t start even with starter fluid.

Replaced gas with new premium 91 and a splash of seafoam. Worked for a full week, now just this morning SAME ISSUES and starter fluid not doing the trick. It sounds like it wants to start and it does for a millisecond and shuts back off. Any suggestions?

 

Fit a new fuel filter. These are a right pain to fit as they are inside the tank, and all those electronics on top of the tank have to be moved to get at the locking ring on the tank top. Fuel pump could be getting intermittent too, or one of the relays, but if you can hear the pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key on, it is probably just the filter. Don't mistake the stepper motor buzzing on the throttle body, for the fuel pump noise.
