Anyone Considering a New Sport Ute, There Are Big Improvement In New Outlander ATV's
Can Am has made some improvements to the Outlander in the last few years. Compared to the early model G2 Outlanders the new ones have a 2" wider track width, new rear trailing arms that are longer and have a lower mounting point, new arched lower front a-arms for more ground clearance, a new front sway bar, and all new suspension settings. Throttle control is now electronic instead of cable, and has multiple different performance settings. I've owned a 2014 Outlander XT, a 2015 Outlander Max Ltd, and a 2018 Outlander XTP, all in the 1000cc size, and I just bought a 2020 Outlander XT 1000. Most of the changes were made in 2019, so both the 2019 and 2020 models is what I am talking about. I couldn't believe how much better the new Outlander 1000 feels. Power is better, but the biggest improvement is throttle response, which is instant, and feels super strong when in sport mode. Handling and suspension are also much better. Can Am has fixed the too soft front suspension problem. Cornering is flat, and the ATV feels like it is on rails. This is easily the best handling big sport ute ATV I've owned.
So for those of you that are on the fence, and wondering if the new Outlanders are enough better to consider upgrading. Yes, I think they are. Have fun out there. Hope to see you on the trail.
