Carb slide scuffing, sticking, is it junk?
#1
Wondering what part number has a cable choke standard since the VM34s I see around normally have the choke lever standard and don't know if that can be removed to accomodate the choke cable end or if I need the cable style.
The slide seemed to be sticking and I notes what looked like some delamination or scoring where the slide sits in the path of the intake manifold and air filter at idle. Is this slide clapped out? I don't imagine soaking in cleaner will help me if it is worn and I am guessing sanding is an uncivilized solution that will only make the issue worse at some point by adding more play to the tolerance. Original stick wide open almost killed my girlfriend and I.
Delam/scuffing on the opposite side, where the slide sits at idle on the intake manifold bore opening.
Not familiar with this text editor so forgive me but the above photos and annotations are pretty much the whole story. Had throttle sticking, cable seems fine, Polaris Scrambler 400 2x4, overbored 30, maybe other upgrades but got used from a secondary owner.
Thanks guys,
SA
