We bought a used 2011 Tao Tao 110 kids quad. The people said the battery was dead and the tail light was broke.
we replaced the tail light & battery the quad will not start. It doesn’t turn over just clicks. Any trouble shooting advice would be appreciated.

 

Firstly the brake usually has to be on, or bike in neutral, for the starter to work. So does the stoplight work? Next, get a 12v incandescent test lamp and put it between battery neg and the positive on starter, with ignition switch and brake on, press start button, if lamp lights you have a faulty starter, if it doesn't but the solenoid clicks once, faulty solenoid. If solenoid buzzes, bad connection at battery or solenoid (include earths) or battery flat, or starter seized, or engine seized.
