Default 2016 king quad 750 EPS

How do you know when you need to change/clean your belt/clutch? I feel as if my quad does not react throttle wise or has as much pick up off the line as it use to. If you know what I mean. Thank you.

I usually change them when they go bang, but Suzuki recommend you check them at service intervals and change them when belt width gets below a certain amount, 34mm sticks in my mind but I would have to check the manual to be certain. Don't buy your new belt from Suzuki unless you have lots of money to burn.

Checked the book at work, and they say change them at each 12 months or 12,000 miles service, seems a bit over the top, but if they can get $160 for a new belt every year from each owner, Suzuki profits should look healthy. In another part of the book it says 33.7mm minimum width, so my guess at 34mm wasn't far out.

I don't use the term primary clutch as they have a centrifugal clutch, which on manual bikes is often referred to as the "primary clutch." Front pulley is a better description, I assume you mean this? Never had a problem, normal right hand thread, on with air wrench, and off it comes. Suzuki manuals show a lot of special tools for locking pulleys, which are not needed with an air wrench. No need to over-tighten when re-fitting, they don't seem to be prone to coming loose.

Default Another issue

Finally was able to change the belt, rode it for 60 miles with no issue. Now when I start it there is a load whining almost like a whistle Sound coming from the CVT case... any idea? It definitely doesn’t sound good. Thank you

Afraid not, check the air cooling pipe out of the belt box hasn't got blocked, or you may have got some grit into that outrigger bearing. My advice would be to take the belt cover off and, if a visual inspection doesn't show anything, start up and trace where the noise is coming from. One point, you must ensure the steel plate that the rollers ride up on, is engaged onto the splines before tightening that bolt, as tightening it with the splines not lined up will lead to trouble.
