I want to upgrade the charging system on my 1995 Big Boss 400l. I want to convert to a DC CDI and see if I can find a 3 phase stator that might fit under the flywheel.
I understand the I would need to change the regulator (possibly mosfet) and may need to upgrade the wiring as well. The charging system does not have enough umpf to run the plow winch and all the niceties for very long.
I did replace the factory size battery with a Harley battery and that helps. Any one ever dabble in converting to three phase? Since I will be converting to a DC CDI I don't need the ac coil on the stator and would like to find a stator that might fit with all charging coils.
