Got it for free and got it running, but running odd. Checked ignition timing because it was revving really slowly like timing was off, and it isn't even close. It is firing at the first line on the flywheel. I have tried taking the key way out of the flywheel and turning the flywheel to alter where the bump for the pickup coil passes by little by little (changing ignition timing in short), but nothing is helping. I'll attach a picture of what line it is firing at. Timing isn't changing with engine rpm either. I may be turning the flywheel the wrong way and messing up the timing more. Someone tell me which way to turn it based on where it is firing now? Thanks!
I would stick that key back in and forget how far out the timing is by the mark. Revving slow is far more likely to be dirt in carb or it just needing the idle stop screw adjusting than the timing being out on a "fixed" timing bike. If you must, get a new CDI, it is supposed to set timing on such machines.
