Default 1997 Scrambler 400 4x4 compatibility

I bought a bit of a project. I am in the process of rebuilding both the gear case and engine, but have found that I have a worn output shaft for the transmission (at the outer seals) and also where the water pump seals fit onto the balance shaft. I have found an xplorer 400, of a similar vintage. Would the transmission from the xplorer fit in the scrambler?

Alternatively, has anyone had any luck using Wear Sleeves or Speedi Sleeves? If so, where did you find them.
