I’ve got a 99 sportsman. When I let off the throttle after going somewhat fast the front hubs (at least it sounds like the front hubs) makes a winning noise. It’s done this ever since I’ve owned it. Is this normal?

I have a polaris y2k expedition 425 cc. It may very well not be your hubs. My front disc
brakes squeel all the time. This is normal when your in the dirty stuff. There dirty but
know harm is being done. If your in alot of deep water though. Your suposed to remove and
change the fluid in your hubs more often. But again. I know that front disc brakes whine alot.

Polaris Rules,
I've had a similar noise with my Sportsman also. It seems to be in the front hub(s) and makes sort of a whomping noise when going down hill after deacceleration; It's done this since the day I got it. I keep the grease changed so I'm not really worried about it.

Check the hub fluid, but I bet it's nothing serious. If it's not the disc you might be hearing the PVT if it's really a whine. Good luck.
