Quad is a 2005 Baja 90cc. Appears to never have been messed with. Thought it might be a kick start, but there's no way it would work on a quad and it has electric start already. It's on the back of the motor on the right side. Any idea?

 

Check if it is just the other end of the foot change shaft. At one time UK motorcycles had right foot gearchange. In India right foot change was fitted until quite recently, so the engine makers may have made the shaft double ended so it could be used either way. However it is most likely to be the kick start shaft for the motorcycle that engine was made for. Chinese ATV makers mostly just buy in motorcycle engines for their ATVs and, as the kick start would have fouled the frame, they took it off.

 

No gear change on left side. Just throttle and go. I guess it's a kick start. Thanks
