Hello all. I have a 2004 Ranger 500 that was clunking at the rear wheels. I have found a lot of slack in the wheel bearings and when I removed the retaining clip for the bearing all the outer ***** fell out. The problem is that I can't seem to get the axle out of the tube (solid rear axle), I assumed it would have a circlip inside the splined section that appears to stick out of the rear differential. I have rigged a puller to the end of the axle and am using it to pull against the axle housing tube. So far I can't tell that it has budged. The manual is of no help. Anybody know how to remove the axle from the housing?
