Rear Axle is Wobbling
#1
My rear axle is wobbling a bit, should it be an area of concern? It looks like we may have hit on a bit of an angle as it wobbles maybe a 1/4".
It isn't noticeable while riding, but when following you can see it wobble a bit.
We weren't jumping that far maybe 15ft in distance and 1 or 2 off the ground so it couldnt have been a very big tweek to cause it.
any suggestions/Comments?

Pull the axle out and take it to a machine shop and the can press it straight. For about $15. One of my friends did this, works great. Or you could by another axle, but its not that bad so you would be better off taking it to a machine shop.Hope this helps.

You need to determine if it is the axle or the bearings or carrier. Jack the back end of the bike in the air and see if the axle has any movement in the bearing carrier. If there is no movement, rotate the axle and determine if it is the axle that is bent.
If the axle is bent, then do what hoover650 recomended. If it is the bearing carrier, pull the old bearings and see what all you need to replace. If I was to pull the bearings and seals, then I would go ahead and replace them while it was apart.

Its the axle..
Oh well.. I guess I will wait until it self destructs and then get a Durablue..
Only ahd the quad for 3 weeks, but I am fat (220lb) and ride hard so I suppose that is expected.
Thnaks for your help you two.

If you have the money i would just buy a dura blue, if u dont i would get the other one straightened, that way it doesnt screw anything else up.

If you continue to ride with a bent axle, it will eventually destroy the bearings, which could otherwise be reused with a new or straightened axle. Waiting will add more money to the fix. I've had axles straightened, never paid more than $20 at a reputable machine shop, and they can do it within a couple thousandths of being perfect.
I weigh 245, I've routinely left the ground 4 feet, 30' distance, never bent yet, never even bottomed the rear shock before. You might want to check your preload adjustment, and increase the compression dampening on the rezzy.

Your best bet is to pull the axle and get it pressed straight. This will keep you from replacing the bearing as well. If you want to get an axle I don't recommend the Dura break. I watched on break after a little step up on a MX Track. These are the most common axles to break.
