Default Can't remove Timberwolf middle gear case cover

Hello everyone again, in the process of transferring the transfer case from my '94 Timberwolf 4x4 to a new crankcase and I'm stuck. I am trying to remove the middle gear case cover but I can't get it to come off due to the factory applied RTV. I've tried beating it with a rubber mallet but it's not moving in the slightest. There is no where to pry or hit from behind; any ideas? I have the manual and triple checked that I've removed all fasteners.

I've been at it for 3 days now and getting very frustrated!

The middle drive gear and UJ will be sticking out, if you knock that sideways, with a soft hammer, will that not force the case off?
