Hi All I have a 1999 sportsman 500 rse, I have a simple question. I have a awd light come on when I put the gear selector in low but not high. Is the awd working in high if the light doesnt come on? How do I test it to verify either way. Thanks.

 

does it come on in reverse w/ the override pushed? find a spot where you can actually spin the tires to lose traction and find out in high.

 

Ok after doing some investigation, I found a few things. 1 I had a bad transmission switch, replaced that it helped but didnt fix problem totally. 2 I found a corroded contact on the second switch, cleaned that and now the light comes on for high and low gear and has voltage going to the coils for the hubs. Hope this helps someone else.
