Default 420 ES Shifting Issue

Hi all, my name is Rick. Found this forum looking for solutions to my issue. I’ve got a 2007 420 rancher es that won’t shift when in auto mode. I can shift between N & D & R just fine but when riding in auto mode it’s not shifting out of first gear. I’ve changed the oil to be sure it’s wet clutch rated. New battery, shift angle sensor and shift motor. Still the same issue. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If it shifts OK when in ES it may be an ECU problem. The computer does need a signal to tell it you are going fast enough to change up though, so it could be something in the speed sensor circuit. The sub loom between sensor and the main loom plug under the seat, near the alternator plug, is prone to rodent damage, but I would expect fault codes to be thrown up. Does the D start to flash? Does the speedo read properly?
