Default 2026 Suzuki KingQuad Line

Suzuki isn't one to simply announce everything they have in the pipeline for the new model year, instead opting to spoon feed us each model over time. They have finally announced what's in store for their flagship KingQuad line of ATVs for 2026 and we think if you can't find a package that suits your needs here, you must not have scrolled all the way to the bottom of the page:

Looks like more or less the same as from 2018 on. We in the UK haven't been able to get 400s since the pandemic. Pity as the auto is better than the Honda 420 auto, smoother and much more simple to fix than the manual with electronic override fitted to the Honda, though the Suzuki 400 engine is a bit more fragile than the Honda one. Manual 400s tend to wear clutches quite fast, not that big a deal with side mounted clutches though. 500KQs are still breaking lower frame tubes. Suzuki have now had 20 years to fix it and, though better than the 450s they are still breaking, now more at the front than at the back. We don't fix many 750s but the 700s had the same frame breakages.

I was a Suzuki guy my entire life as far as off-road machines and bikes go but I have bought 2 separate Polaris ATV’s since then. There is no excuse for an issue to exist for twenty years. None. The Japanese machines are far from the well built reliable machines they used to be. They can not compete with Polaris and BRP. IE Can Am.

It's basically the same engine that's in my 2008 750. Solid engine but back then, it was considered powerful. Now, it's just ok. I'll probably keep riding my 08 for many more years. 08 was the only year power steering wasn't offered. It would be nice but I'm not buying a new one just to get it. It's still plenty powerful enough for most people but offering a more powerful model would appeal to some. I've never had any issues with the frame on mine, but I've never really worked it hard. Never hauled or towed anything heavy with it. Heaviest thing I've ever put on my racks was a cooler. I've used it move my utility trailer around the yard but it's an Aluma and it only weighs about 400 lbs.

450-750 King Quads are fairly light on the steering, even without power. Hondas, however vary a lot, with some, non power steering, current 420s being like tanks to steer and some quite light. Could be tyre choice, or differences in limited slip diffs, I don't know. Incidentally, both Suzuki and Honda use strange face cam and pushrod setups for front diffs, rather than bevel gear "spiders".
