Anyone read the review in Dirt Wheels? They said the 650 was the new standard for the big 4x4's. They loved it. Power was awesome, best brakes, excellent suspension, great tranny, reservior rear shock, low center of gravity, lots of nice features. Yeah, hope those guys that couldn't wait love their old school Polaris quads.

 

I sure hope it is as good as they say. I was just about a signature away from buying a sportsman instead.

 

my dealer says he will have one next week, but i have the second one reserved, that sucks, how long will it take to get the second one i wonder? not as long as the first will it?

 

swen, my dealer said that Kawasaki told him he was getting 3 on the first shipment. It's not that big a dealer either. So maybe you'll get it on the first shipment.

 

Well Guys,

I've talked to three dealer today and I get anywhere from "any day now" to "early June". So who knows what's going to happen.

I'd plan on trading my "00" Prairie 400 4X4 for this thing. I'm going on a three week camping/fishing trip in early June and would like to break it in before I go. Guess I'll wait til fall if I can't get one by 15 May.

Well, i can hope, i have been waiting for a while now, i am going to stick it out though, i'm not even thinking about the yamaha, at least we know all about the prairie, how can anyone say the new yammie will beat it, no one knows the displacement even, one reason i like the kawi is the back brakes, my grizzly would get mud in there, i like the totally sealed brake system,

 

My dealer said he was told this morning that he was allocated one 650,a green one, should be in next week, but i just got off the phone with kawasaki consumer services, i asked about the release date, they said that as of today there was a hold put on it, he said that right now the quality people and the technicians and others were in a meeting and he wont know any thing for another hour or so, hopefully this is nothing big, if there is a hold and it is going to be a little longer it will be pushing it for me to keep waiting, i want the 650 bad,but i am not going to be sitting around all summer waiting for a fourwheeler that may or may not appear, well, at least i got a motorcycle now to at least pass some time until it comes out

 

Swen, I was just wondering why you traded the Grizzly so soon? Before the Prairie was even released. I feel your pain and Kawasaki ought to be ashamed for screwing this whole thing up so bad with the release and all the hype then the delays etc... I know this thing is gonna set the standards but they should have marketed it better than this. I know one thing, IF and when they say there's a new sport quad I will wait until I see it before I get my hopes up!!

 

Hey Kawasaki, keep delaying the release of the 650 & Yamaha & Polaris will release their new quad before yours!!!

I hope the wait is worth it for you guys. I couldn't wait any longer & went with the Sportsman. All I can say is, I will never, never, never go back to a solid or straight axle machine again!
