Which piston is best for 400ex? I have heard that the JE has better quality.

They are both really good pistons, but I've been told that JE is of higher quality. Wiseco is a good piston, but I've heard they are made to be replaced more often. I've putting in a Wiseco 11:1 compression soon. I plan on going to 406 or 416 later on. Hope I helped.

I just won a JE 10.8:1 piston off of ebay. I plan on putting it in with a cam and a different ignition. Hopefully i will have lots of new found power!

hylton400ex,
What filter and jetting do you have with your DMC pipe? Also, are you going to put the piston in or will you have a shop do the work?

I would like to do a cam and hi-comp. piston and was wondering if I can do the work myself. I'm only familiar with 2-strokes.
Thanks for your help

I have a Wiesco 10:1 in my 400 (over a year now) and had a Wiesco in my FST 250X and have never had a problem.
