Help with Brakes
#1
I had both front caliper pistons seize up last month, so I took them apart and both inner pistons on the front were seized. I squeezed the brake lever and got them ou, there was no sign of rust on the piston so I simply pushed them back in to the caliper. The improvement in the breaking was quite noticeable. Anyway while riding last weekend I noticed the front brakes were squeaking a little and that is exactly what they were doing before the were un-seized. I really need the extra stopping power that the front brakes provide when they work right, but I don't want to have to take them apart every month.Does anyone have a more permanent solution other than replacing the calipers {$175} bucks each. I thought about trying to remove the "O" ring in the caliper and maybe polish the inside this time but the manual says there are no serviceable parts for the caliper. Any suggestions?

Auto parts supply will have products that you apply to the back side of the pads where they
contact the caliper pistons, this should help
with the squeal. you might try high temp. grease
on the O-rings this should help with the sticking.

Hey there Jim,Roy here from Porters Lake,I think that the proper slide grease would do the trick. It is the same as used on car calipers,do not reinstall the slide dry.
On a different topic, I am on my way to the N.B. rally on friday, should be a good time.Last year there was 1100 riders on saturday, great fun if the rain keeps up.Anyway best of luck with your brakes.
