Reinforceing rings on factory wheels?
#2
NEVER TRIED ON POLARIS WHEELS BUT THEY SHOULD WORK FINE, HOWEVER THE ONLY DOWNFALL TO THESE ARE THAT MUD AND DIRT GET TRAPPED IN THE WHEEL AND MAKE IT HEAVY AND OUT OF BALANCE. FOR A FEW MORE BUCKS THAN GETTING RINGS AND WELDING THEM IN YOU COULD GET THE DOUGLAS ULTIMATE WHEELS WHICH HAVE A ROLLED EDGE SO THERE IS NO RING TO HOLD MUD BUT THEY STILL TAKE THE SAME ABUSE. THIS IS WHAT I RUN AND I RIDE THROUGH EVERYTHING FROM MUD AND SNOW TO SAND WITH NO BENDS TO DATE, PLUS YOU CAN KEEP THE OTHERS FOR BACK UPS INCASE YOU GET A FLAT YOU CAN JUST THROW ON ANOTHER RIM AND TIRE TO GET THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

codeman,
One thing you have to remember is that the aluminum is of different thickness and could be of a different alloy. This could make welding a difficult process at best. Like PENNZILLA said, for a few more bucks you can get better wheels.
