front sprocket help

i finally got to putting on my sunstar 14 tooth sproket today. the one that was on it had built in spacers on it so it wouldnt slide around on the spline. the sunstar slides about 3/16 of an inch on the spline. did any of you guys have this problem? how did you fix it if you did?
