Just a thought. I was wondering if there wasn't some way to use the Tranny vent outlet and port it to the airbox. Thereby pressurizing the airbox and making a kind of low tech super charger. The faster the engine turns the more the vent puts out. You would have to seal the regular intake for the airbox. It would also help and prevent water intrusion into the tranny by getting rid of theat low exhaust port.

My only thought on this is that it would seem to me that the quad would get too lean at higher RPMs. Wouldnt the tranny exhaust be pushing harder at high RPMs than it would at low RPMs. Maybe you could change jets to compensate...not sure.

Supercharging a carb is tricky. Most setup rely on a pull thru setup where the supercharger is after the carb pulling the air and fuel into the engine. You are talking about seting up a blow thru system. You would have to increase fuel flow portional to airflow. Most automotive systems use fuel injection to help in this area via auxialry fuel pumps and pressure increases. carb setups use a vacum referenced fuel pressure regulator attached to the manifold/carb. A simple jet change will work for only a very limited power band and the motor will stink everywhere else. I haven't even begun to talk about fuel/air distrubution problems or the increase in heat a supercharger creates in the combustion chamber and the added stress on parts. You will also need a blow off valve or pop off valve. Where is all this Boost going to go when you let it spool up and them let off the throttle?!?! I love the idea. I just don't see it as workable. There is a reason an truck/car supercharger works well, lots of cash and research. The one on my Dakota R/T is awesome for power but it is complictated to a good degree. I have two extra 28 pound per hour injectors to add fuel while in boost situations! I have to use 93 octane gas and watch the tempurature close in the summer with the A/C on. Worth it though.

Turbo charging relys on exhaust gases to turn an impeller on oneside connected to an impeller on the other side pushing the air into the motor. So I don't know what you could call this. IT's kinda like a supercharger when only in gear. I 'm not sure if the clutches turn when you have them in neutral, thats why I say this.
