Sorry guys, while I highly doubt he'll see this, I just had to share it anyway. I just returned from a trip to our property up north. In the process, I took my buddy on a ride around our place, then on a long loop around the valley. Well, the batteries in my GPS were down, my normal sense of direction seemed to be left with the batteries. Actually, I'd never gone the long loop before, just assumed we could find a way to make it work. We ended up traveling nearly 90 miles, I damn near ran out of gas-it sputtered as we pulled back to the cabin! Anyway, when I had to switch to reserve at around 55 miles, my switch was missing. The screw had fallen out I guess, so pliars were needed to switch to reserve.

So, I go to the local 'Cat dealer in Omak, Washington-Lay's Arctic Cat and Marine to be exact. Well, as expected, he didn't have the part, but said he'd be glad to order it. I said no, I was leaving in a couple days, it wouldn't arrive in time. He says well, let me just rob it off that new '01 out there. I said what? He said well, I doubt I'll sell this machine today, so here, you can use it more than I can, just take this one-he took the part I needed off the '01, handed it to me.

He then saw my suburban and 'Cats loaded up, asked hey, do you know this guy? I said yeah, he's my Grandpa. He says come in here, so we walked into the shop. On the wall, he had framed a picture of my 'Cat winching out the suburban with the trailer attached out of a deep mudhole. He said nobody believed how tough these 'Cats really were, so he uses that picture for proof. With that, he said just keep the part, I won't charge you for it. I said what!??? No, I've got to pay you something, after all, it's off a brand new machine! He said no, that picture helped him sell a few machines himself, if I really wanted to do anything for him, just send him more of the same type of crazy unbeleivable shots of my 'Cat in action, either working or riding. Now is that service or what.

Anyway, when customer service comes to mind, I'd say Mr. Lay definately went over and above the call of duty, so I just wanted to say THANK YOU! If anybody's looking for a good 'Cat dealer, there's an excellent one up in the small town of Omak, Washington.

Thanks again Mr. Lay, greatly appreciated!
Oh, and-the pictures are in the mail!

Mike

That is the kind of thing a person likes to hear. Everyone can complain of bad service, so why not highlight the good guys, too?

I do like the looks of the 'cats for working, I just wish we had a dealer worth a darn out my way.

Hey Catlance, Farmr-how you guys doing back east there! Haven't heard from either of you in a while, hope everything is going well. Yeah, I realize this post is basically nothing really important, but with everybody always complaining of bad service, I had to give some respect somehow to Mr. Lay up there. He was definately great, got me on my way at his expense, which is something you hardly never see these days anymore. I was so surprised with his actions, also very happy to see there are still some really good, honest people out there. Especially in the business world today, it's hard to make ends meet, and Omak is a very small town, so I know he doesn't sell a bunch of machines as a larger, more well known dealer would. I've dug up a bunch of pictures for him, as he requested, so hopefully I'll get them in the mail to him in the next day or two. Still moving now, making several trips to back home, some 150 miles away-pretty busy!

Anyway, Farmr-I assume everything's going well on your ranch back there? Still playing in the mud with your pigs??? heh heh heh. Hope things eased up a bit with your neighbor-though come hunting season, I'm sure it will all turn up again-best of luck with that!

Catlance-how's your new place coming along now??? Now that I'm out of school, I'm really itching to get my own spread to put a house on-you're very lucky to have what you have, that's awesome.

Well, best of luck, we'll talk to you guys later, happy trails!
