offset front wheels on raptor (INFO)
#1
I SWITCH MY FRONT WHEELS ON MY RAPTOR AND NOW HAVE 1.5 INSIDE ANR 4.5 OUTSIDE(OFFSET)THAT GIVE ME A +6 LARGER FRONT END.DO YOU SEE ANY DURABILITY PROBLEM WITH THAT MOD.??WHY AFTER MARKET WHEELS FOR THE RAPTOR ARE 5 INCH WIDE NOT 6 INCH LIKE THE ORIGINAL???IF I BUY NEW WHEELS SHOULD I GO WITH 2+3 IN/OUT OFFSET ..................THANKS!!

The stock wheels are 5.5", not 6". I put some new Warrior front wheels that I had (they are a true 6" wide) on the front of my Raptor and got an overall 1" wider front end. Going to an excessively negative offset on the wheels places a lot of stress on the ball joints and tie rod ends, due to the added leverage ratio. Also, the shock damping will seem softer, for the same reasons. The only "correct" way to increase the track width is via longer a-arms, albeit very expensive. Mine seemed to be a good compromise until I go with different a-arms. Hope this info helps out.

i modified some banshee rear wheel spacers and put them on the front of my raptor.i now have 2 1/2 inchs on each side. i average 6 to 10 feet of air on
doubles around my house and have had no troubles with them.it handles 10xs better too.

FYI, I had 1.5" front wheel spacers in my Raptor and had many problems with the entire tie rod assemblyl, I bent one tie rod and broke one tie rod end on different occasions. If you plan to widen your front, do it right, change the arms and may suggest putting Ricky Stator Tie Rod Kit.
