I have a 97 warrior with a K&N air filter with a supertrapp exhaust. Rest of quad is stock. What size main jet should I be using with this combination? Also, do I need to move the clip on the needle down? If so how many notches? Any information would be great! Thanks.

I would try going up 2 jet sizes and see how it runs. You may need to raise the clip on the needle up 1 also.

MDEGAIN...what size main jet do you have in your warrior and how many clips did you move your needle. I have a warrior and i'm getting the E series pipe for it. Mine is only bored .020 over with a wiesco piston. It has a K & N with a drilled airbox lid. Other than that it is completely stock. I'll have the pipe in two weeks. Thanks!

Hey man I know what your talking about my Power Up Kit also said to go down on the main jet. But my Warrior ran awful like that so I talked to my dealer and some other guys on this forum and now I am running a 155 main jet. And my Warrior runs fine. You can pull a power wheelie in second gear.

skikke,

have you already gone up one for your K&N and oversize bore? If not, you need to go up 2 and up 1 clip on the needle, all depending on your elevation. When I had just put my e-series on and according to the instructions for it, there is no need to rejet. I rejetted anyways and noticed acceleration a little better than it was before I changed jets. Playing with the carb is all a trial and error thing. YamaWarrior01, sounds like you do need to go up. Just keep messing with it until it works right.

Yes I have gone up to a 150 main jet. Why do you need to move the clip on the carb? I'm curious as to why this is done and what benifits does it have? Thanks for all the help!

Moving the clip up lowers the needle which makes it a little bit richer. It does help considerably.

I always thought if you moved the clip up a position, it would lower the needdle and lean it out not richen it up. I was also told that needle position is for 1/4 throttle to 3/4 throttle. Also that the the main jet size affects 3/4 throttle to wide open. Most of the problem I am having is 1/4 to 3/4 throttle, it develops a miss when in this range. Ocassionally it will do it at wide open throttle. I'm pretty sure it is jetting, but could be wrong. Any more info on jetting this problem would be appreciated or any ideas on what else may be causing it would be good also. thanks
