Assuming you are referring to www.bluetrax.com then blue on a black background isn't a must for all Yamaha ATV owners - only those with really good eyes or life size video monitors.

I agree with NotuRaptor. Bluetrax site really bites for the simple fact that you can't read anything!! I have good eyesite and a 19" monitor!!! They can't ever log onto their own site or they would know about this problem. Maybe they use ATV Connection for their own use???? Hmmmmmm.....

Tell my buddy that Yamaha rules. We were in the middle of nowhere at Wayne National Forest this weekend. He was on a 1 month old Raptor, with maybe ten hours on it. All of a sudden, BOOM, there went the carb boots. Two hours later, we were back on the trails. His Raptor was running like a Pinto with 200,000 miles on it, and he wanted to head back in fear of being stuck out further.

Way to Go Yamaha, you just built a $7,000 headache.

Quadfather,
You are full of BS. Give Yamaha credit. The Raptor is not a $7,000 headache. It is only a $6,500 headache. These horror stories are the reason I didn't buy one. Plus they are the next "me too" quad.
I guess that is what happens when you rush to the table to one up Honda & don't have your s**t together...

first of all, the carb problem is related to the jetting not a defect or malfunction and can easily be fixed with little money. just highlight the text on the site and now you can read it. some people just bitch too much. don't bash.

So, as soon as you spend your hard earned money on it, you gotta spend "a little money" to fix it. Great deal.

or... you could pay good money for a Raptor, and if you get one of the 25% that blows the boots off, take it to your dealer where it is covered by the warranty. Yamaha admitted the problem and are trying to do the best they can. It ain't like the Ford Explorer situation where Ford lies through their teeth for 2 years and trashes Firestone as though they make a horrible product. Firestone and Yamaha both make great products and that is how they got to the position they are in now. As w/ Yamaha, Firestone admitted that they had a small batch of tires that were screwed up and immediately did what they had to to fix the problem. Now trying to make themselves look better (and further crushing Firestone) Ford says they will recall ALL Firestone Wilderness AT's, even the ones on my '01 Ranger. BUT IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM W/ THE TIRE WOULD THEY ALLOW ME 6 YEARS to replace my tires... my tires (and most everyone elses) will be completely gone by then!!!
Every company gets drug threw the mud when something goes wrong... the only thing you can do is try to stay calm and work w/ the manufacturer and work something out.... or buy a different bike! Either way, quit complaining about it. Everyone has known about these problems for at least 4-5 months now, so if people decide to buy a Raptor now, and the boots blow off, or it looses second gear... they knew what risk they were taking, and they should be able to suck it up!

Actually I would think that unless you are on an ATV forum such as ATV Connection, you probably wont know aout any of these problems and fixes for them. I am the only source of information on the Raptor for a buddy who just bought one. He has never heard of the carbs blowing off or the tranny issue. I know he has not received anything in the mail telling him to watch for these problems from Yamaha...
