The Life and Times of my 400ex.
Day 1:
Dropped a valve...
Month 4 or something like that..... :
I got it back for about $100 for a battery and a few little charges, the rebuild was free! Put on rear beadlocks.
Month 5ish:
Seal went bad and lost all my oil.
Month 6ish:
I got it back after a month, still most of the 2nd tank of gas left... Got new tires.
Day after month 6ish:
Here is is now...
My starter is bad... brushes i think, but havn't got to check all my connections.... Solenoid replaced not to long ago...
Washed it last night, started and ideled a while, wouldn't start today, had to roll start.
2nd opinions?

It happens every now and then when you buy used quads. It happened with my 300ex. I knew when I bought it that she had been parked for 2 years and the carb was a mess. But I didnt know and didnt pick up on the fact that it had been fliped. When I took it for a test ride it was dark and there was 4" of snow on the ground.
The local shop had the carb for a month and when I got it back it was still not perfect. then I realized the rear end had a wobble. Replaced the rim, hub and axle. Then I replaced the tweaked handle bars. Then the clutch went. All of this was while I was replacing tires and skid plates and so on.
Its the nature of the beast.
When I got my 400ex it was a time capsule machine. Two years later I had to replace the clutch, front shocks, and ALL of the bearings. Parts fail when you ride hard.
