Will a trailblazer with an FTR pipe and clutch kit beat a scrambler 500 in a drag race? I know it wont on top end but what about the holeshot?

Thanks Ryan H.

You'll need more than that. Although adding a pipe and clutch to a TrailBlazer makes a world of difference, it still belongs in the snail category.

Having owned and modded a blazer in the past nothing short of nitrous will give you an edge.

Ryan,

Just a pipe and clutch kit won't do it alone. If you add up what you would need to make a Trailblazer as fast as the 500 Scrambler it would cost you about $1100. Add this to the price of a Trailblazer, and you get about $4400 worth of machine. This doesn't include the new reed valve cylinder that HPD is coming out with. So for around $1200 less than the price of a Scrambler 500 you will get it's performance. As far as the top end speed thing, you can just change sprockets to keep right up with the Scrambler 500. let's face facts here, the Scrambler 500 isn't going to get that much faster no matter what you do to it. On the other hand you have a machine that is over 100 pounds lighter, that takes to mods like a duck to water. Add the reed valve cylinder to the Trailblazer and you will completely blow the Scrambler 500s away.

The down side is you have to either buy race gas, or use an octane booster to run in the Trailblazer with these mods.
