i have a friend who has a stcok scrambler 500 and when he goes in water in 4x4 on hub jerks real hard he checked the oil and it was good he says it only happens in water so do you think it is a short please help we want to go ridin tommorrow thanks!

 

Check the wires that lead to the hubs very carefully. It sounds like somewhere there is a bad spot in the insulation, causing the wire to short out, and loss of power to one hub. There is no fuse to the wire, it has an auto-reset circuit breaker, so as soon as it dries, it will restore power. It could also be where the wire enters the strut housing, the silicone could have broken it's seal.
These are the first things to check. If you can't find anything, reply back, and someone should have more ideas.
