I own a 400ex and love the way that the tires hook up. I also own a DS 650, I wish it would hook up as well. I know the weight is shifted to the front a little more but these Dominator tires really suck when it comes to hooking up on a holeshot. What kind of tires should I look into for my problem? I have heard some of you using Realtors and Holeshot XCT's. The Holeshots look a whole lot like the Dominators that are already on it. I don't want to change the tire size unless it is maybe an inch wider. What hooks up the best for trail and dirt riding, I'm spinning like a mad man even leaning backwards. Plus I way 230 pounds. Please help me decide, everyones help here has really helped me out since I purchased the mighty DS. Thanks.

I know you don't want to change your tire size but you should because its well worth the money. Go with 22 inch rears and 23 fronts. I have the Holeshot XCT's and my brother has the Maxxis Razers. I love my XCT's and riding his DS I like his Razers as well both are great tires and the Razers are a little cheaper on the wallet. You'l find alot of DS owners in here that will swear by both tires. Now the stock tire tread is'nt really the "hook up" problem its the size, get the sizes mentioned above and you'll "hook up" and you'll have a new love for your DS. BTW both of these tires with the sizes mentioned will still power slide the DS very well.

I run 22" Mud Sharks on the rear for awsome hookup in the Snow and Mud. But if you ride mostly in dry & dusty - Pro... was right on the money. I also swapped out the 40 tooth for a 37 rear sprocket. That and a 2" taller tire change helped out greatly after I added my Big Gun Complete System. I think I have the power to traction ratio just right. Good Luck

Razr rears, stock size. they bite awesome. Nothing like a pair of tires to put more of the power to the ground. alot more!

I have the XCT's front and rear and they hook up way better than the stock. With the stock tires, I was spinning all the way through third, sitting on the back, and not going anywhere. Now I can start in second, lean over the bars and pop the clutch and pull the front end off the ground as far as I want, depending on how much gas I give the hoss.

I run Razrs, one inch wider than stock. Great traction. For mud and snow I have 22" Realtors. Killer straight line traction.

I just got 22" realters and I can say that the traction is awsome!! With the 2 inches wider and taller it really helps to put the power to the ground. They are reversable for dirt or sand which is also really nice.

You mentioned that yours are wider. Are they stock height though? Or are they 22inch. If so do you have clearance problem or a tall gearing problem?

When I said two inches wider and taller I was thinking the stock tires were 10 in wide (they are 11 in). Anyway the realters are 22-12-10 which are 2 in taller and 1 in wider than stock with a great deal more traction. I have yet to have a problem with clearance. I found that the taller tires made up for the gearing after I put on the pipe and filter. I hit the rev limiter less now and the exceleration is still great.
