I need a atv for hunting and fishing. I drive slow so the top end speed I can do with out. I have it down to the KING QUAD or the AC300 4WD. Which one would be good for me???

They are both very good machines but i think the AC is a little better. my reasons for the AC are, bigger gas tank, better suspension, better tires, the seat is more comfortable to me, and you can still modify it so it has the front locker like the King Quad. I put a lift on mine by just removing the shocks and putting some spacers under the springs. My friend has a King Quad and when we ride i see his rear tires bouncing in and out so that when he goes over bumps the rear tires do this /\ \/, while the rear tires on my AC stay straight up and down. test ride each one and see what one you like the best that is what really counts, getting the one you like the best.

I own both a suzuki and an AC. The Suzuki is an 89 250 Quadrunner, though, but it is basicly the same as the King Quad. The suzuki does have the advantage of being lighter by a lot, i'd guess by atleast 120-170#'s, which allows the smaller 250 engine to follow pretty well. Both machines are incredably strong, reliable and durable. I can go through rack high water on both or 28" of thick glue like mud without a problem on either. The one major advantage the AC has is the suspension. The suzuki's is a bit stiffer and shorter, even the newer models are relatively short travel, and at times it can be rough. The suzuki's single A-Arm rear suspension is it's major downfall, because of it the wheels move in a bubble like suspension...like this (-)...when the wheels are all the way down, suspension fully extended, the top of the wheel is sticking out farther than the bottom, And when the suspension is bottomed out the bottom sticks further out than the top. Because of this your tires always wear on the edge, not the center, and you can never go to larger tire because of the way they wear(it would be really tilted). Even though the suzuki has a smaller fuel tank it gets really good fuel milage due to its weight and it is "spunky", but the cat has lots of grunt and i beleive, not sure, it has a higher towing and rack capacity. The locker isn't really a big deal, it is really easy just to adjust or make up the parts to make it have all 3 differential ranges. In my opinion the Cats are a lot more comfortable, stable, and offer a better opportunity to modify, and with this comfort it makes it easier to sit on it all day when your heading out to your blind or field. Good luck, they are both great machines with few differences but i think the Cat has more to offer you.

KingQuad's post was probably exactly what you needed to hear. A man who owns both machines you are questioning (pretty close anyway with the suzuki), and gave you the pro's and con's of each, in a very honest, to the point post. Nicely done, and probably nothing more to add.

Best of luck in the decision, whichever you end up with, I hope to see pics this fall hauling out a nice big buck!!!
