Hello all - I've got a '98 Artic Cat 400 4x2 and was looking to replace all the plastic fenders. Are there any sites that sells replacement fenders for our bikes? I've taken the 4 plastic body parts off and I'm wanting to "camo" my 4wheeler. Just wanting to know what it would cost me to buy an all new plastic body. Thanks.

I don't presently know of any camo aftermarket fenders or complete plastic kits to replace the fenders and such on our 'Cats. They do however, make camo "skins" to cover your existing fenders and such. They'r available in both mossy oak breakup, and advantage camo, and hardwoods now too, made out of that thick carhartt type material, and cost up to $170 for the complete kit. They look pretty good, I've thought of getting one myself, just don't have that kind of "play" money just yet. The only things I forsee as a problem with them is I don't know if they would tear or not through the thick brush-my carhartt bibs and such don't, they are made from the same type of material, but you never know. Secondly, any time you go out mudding, you'd have to remove the camo skin to wash the mud out from underneath, or you'd possibly risk scratching your plastic further from sand or grit trapped under the skin-just like the "bra's" you can buy for the front of cars. Thirdly, I wonder if the colors would fade if stored in direct sunlight for long periods of time??? Anyway, I'd still like to get one, just don't have money yet. Granted, the true camo fenders would be much better. I've heard there is a new camo color for the new 'Cats-is this true??? It might be possible the plastic could fit???

Best of luck, hope you find something that works,

Mike

Doesn't Cabela's sale like a camo kit for the fenders that is actually a tape? I thought that is what it said but I'm not sure. I will have to check into it more.

Thanks for the reponses guys. I think I've decided on the Moose Utility-Fender Cover Kit I'm going to purchase it from MAW

A guy I work with has them on his Polaris and they look great. They also look very durable, made of a canvas type material. I think it's similar to what you were talking about cowboy. There price on the set is $134.95. The company that sells them says there the cheapest on the net and they look to be it. I found many places that carry them and they were all between $150 and $200. The camo kit from Cabela's you talking about ttaylor is a tape kit. My Cat's sitting in the garage without the plasic right now because that's what I was going to go with. I took off the "skins" lastnight cleaned them up preparing them for the "camo tape". I guess I'll spend tonight putting them back on. At least they're really clean now! Anyways thanks again.

I put the camo tape from Cabellas on my 300 2x4 2 years ago and its holding up fine. I trailor and no problem with tape comming off. Tougher than H*ll . It appears to be made of cordura type stuff. Sticks well. Only problem was cutting to fit the curves. I had three rolls and used 2 and a half. Great stuff. Low bucks, I liked it . Would do it again.

Win3855 - how does that tape hold up to mud and cleaning? Those were my two main concerns. I've been know to really get my Cat dirty from time to time. I haven't ruled anything out just yet.

I've had no problem with mud and washing. Make sure, if you go this route, to clean plastic very well. The edges are the tricky places next time I will wrap around them more, several inches. Put tape on when warm and be carefull not to lose the wheeler in the woods .
