My reverse light on the headlight pod of my 96 Xplorer 400 does not come on when I move the shifter into reverse.

When I shift into reverse the neutral light comes on. Would the shifter linkage be out of wack? Is it difficult to adjust (I have yet to remover the sides and take a look).

When this happened I also lost 4WD in reverse. Could the two be related - in other words is the reverse 4WD engaged electrically and somehow linked to the light in the pod?

E-mail Jack Schultz or Kagey about it.

Loyal,
Does the AWD work in reverse with the Override button pushed? Does the reverse light come on if you push the override button?
It sounds like you have lost a ground somewhere. I've had that happen on my Scrambler, and seen it happen on the older machines (the ones with the circut board)

in my 99 sp 335 the same thing happened. i took it to the dealer, and they found that 2 micro swithches in the shifter went bad. they replaced both, and the problem was fixed.

Mudmachine

I have no AWD in reverse with the OD button pressed. I also do not have any reverse light with the OD button pressed. I don't even think that the "AWD" lights up on the button either - in reverse with OD button pressed.

Are all these lights "linked up" with the AWD system or could it possibly be 2 different problems? (I suppose anything is possible these days ) Where would be the best place to look for the ground - on the board or somewhere on the frame?
