I might be buying a 250x frame and wanted to know what kind of motor I should stick in it>? I was thinking of a yz 250 or some kind of 2 stroke motor.. give me some replies.

350X is a relatively easy bolt in.

Most 2-stroke dirtbike engines do not have a counter-balancer. That means that eventually the harmonic vibration will tear the frame apart at the welds. Whatever you pick, make sure it has a counter-balancer.

ECATV sells them for 1500 new if im correct...

Yes, ECATV (East Coast ATV) sells them new for that price. All they have now is used ones for $1200 i think. Go here and email them. Thats what I did, i was going to do the swap into my R frame until i found out the trouble involved for an R conversion. ECATV are very nice people to deal with and will answer all your questions.

Look for an old Honda Ascot FT500. It's basically the same engine as the early 80's XR500 but with a wider ratio trans and electric start. It would have to be fun.
