Just got my 2000 scrambler 400. Im going to be running it this year on the GNCC series. The machine seems to lack very low speed grunt. Since there is no "low" on a scrambler this is a bit of a problem for me. It would make me think that a lower ratio would be easier on the belt for low speed ridding.

Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket kits available that change the gear ratio? I would suspect the only way to do this would be to change the pulley's. Im new to Polaris machines....(have been with other quads for 10 years though).

There really isn't a whole lot you can do to your Scrambler if it's a 4x4. If it is a 2x4, you could change the gearing with a sprocket change. Also look into a clutch kit that allows for a lower engagement rpm. Hope this helps!

The best thing you can do to give is abroader power range is put on an RcR pipe, muffler, airbox, rejet the carb and change the clutch springs. It will arise from the dead. This also raised the rpm's so you can now go to 20" tires. That's just like lower the gearing, it works.
