01 Grizzly Belt Drain?
#1
My father has a 01 Grizzly that recently went through water about rack deep. The problem is that it has sat for over 2 weeks and the belt still slips so bad that it barely moves. Does it have a drain plug for the belt? Or does anyone have any other ideas?
Thank you everyone!

Look it over and find which side the air exhost from the belt drive is on (probably the left as you sit on it). Now start it up and put it in nutral and lean it towards that side, lay it over until it's vertually on its side. Make sure you have two people while doing this once you get it past center balance point it will get real heavy. Now if the engine will still run rev it for a while. The air from the cvt fan will blow the water out and leaning it on its side will make it eaiser for the water to blow out. I know this works with both Polaris and Suzuki Quadmasters and I don't know why it wouldn't for a Griz.
If this don't work your just going to have to brake down and take the cvt cover off, which might be a good idea anyway just to look things over.
Good Luck

If your Grizzly is like my Kodiak you should have a 12mm drain bolt on the bottom right side. If this doesnt work he may have gotten mud in pulleys and clutches. It will need to be taken apart and cleaned out. I seen this happen on a 2001 Kodiak who tried to follow me without a snorkel and he had to get his tranny cleaned out and his belt replaced. Hope this helps.
