While doing some nasty submarining in Silver Lake, I slipped onto the clutch cover and made some nasty noise.

When I took the cover apart, I ground the rear gasket on the cover against the cooling fins of the driving clutch. It should be ok, as the damage is minimal.

Someday I wil have to take the clutch off, and was wondering if I will need to use a clutch puller from polaris.

Thanks,

Rainman

Yes you will need a puller that screws into the front clutch to remove it. The rear is held on by one bolt and is easily removed.

Rainman it is real simple to make the clutch puller all you need is a piece of all thread 3/4 inch fine thread about 9 inches long and two nuts cost me about $2.00 compared to $35.00 at the friendly polaris dealer. grind one end of the all thread down to about 1/2 inch and about about one inch long. screw it in to the clutch assembly put the 2 nuts on together and turn it till the clutch comes off. any more questions email... i still have a piece of all thread left i'll send you a piece if you have trouble finding it
