Can someone give me the specs on the fluids, crankcase, rear, and if the crankcase and engine oil are different that also. (requirements and weights) I also need the capacities of each. Oil filter? Does anyone have a number? Can I get a fram replacent.

Who makes the best shop manuel for an 85 250?

Now for the parts:

I need the right kick starter cover for the machine and two seat bushings. The bushings are the rubber ones for the rear of the seat that go between the seat and the frame members. If your partin out a BR and want to get rid of a couple of small parts let me know.

Thanks

Gary

I was just out lookin it over. I am very happy. Seems a bit better than I thought. I will put some of that coating on the welds to keep em from rustin but they really are just the normal surface rust you would expect. I looked of a filter and can't find one. It just might not have one. The boot for the drive shaft looks great. Yea, the rack is just a little bent but the crackin the fender is nothin. Just a bit back at the forks. Looks like just unsupported fatigue stuff. They guy put a couple of bolts through the fender to the rack for a bit of support but I'm not goin to change it.

I have a power washer but it's not a great one. I think I'm gonna take er to town and wash er off. It's pretty clean already but. He didn't wash er for a while. That was good cause I can see the condition of the engine and trans seals. Not much leakin at all. Just a minimal around the valve cover but that's it. Nothin at all to be concerned with. I'm very happy as long as she runs like she looks. Headin out to Farm and Home to see if they have any of those tri fold ramps. Yea we got er on by liftin but I hunt for the most part alone. This ol back won't take it even if I could put er on myself which I can't.

I will send ya a couple of picts. I would like to wait till I get a deer on the back though. ;-} Do ya think there is a place on line to find the specs for the fluids and other stuff for the Red. I really want to get em changed out before I ride er much. Sure hope she does the job in the field. Hope with a bit of common sense she won't throw me. To old for that. Another guy told me the dangerious part of the three wheelers is puttin your foot down when she tips. He said the rear wheel will suck ya right in. That was a great point I didn't think of. Of course down hill and turnin is a point to be real careful. Don't plan to be Zoooomin around, she's a work horse to get me in and out. Hope I can put a deer on the rear rack and not be to rear heavy. Sure would be better than draggin.

Talk to ya later, gotta mess with the Red. ;-}

250sx, I was selling my 250 sx a while back but it didn't happen. I now have a cousin that is thinking of selling his 250sx and a Big Red 250. The shipping has been the selling problem and was wondering what the demand for these bikes is. I might consider a trip back there if all 3 sold.

Big Reds are always in demand around here. Yes they have an oil filter Thumbs, look on the right side towards the bottom. It has a useless plastic cover attached to it.

Do you have asking prices on the trikes? pictures? I see big reds around here going for up to $2000, but $1500 is the norm although my dad just bought a NICE one with a custom nerf bar and front winch for $1000.

Dan

I got a hold of a Clymer manual at the "local" shop. I was pretty suprised he had one. Will your book give me anything different?

Yeah I found the filter and changed the engine and rear fluids. I think I'm gonna need a set of tires though. They seem to be fine now but they do have a few plugs in em and I'm not real sure of the amount of tread for huntin. I'm lookin at the C828's for the rear but don't know about the front. I plan to hit the woods in a couple of days and try it out. Been puttin around here but the terrain isn't to tough.
