My wife's cousin and I are new to the Berks, PA area and haven't had much luck finding many places to ride within 45 minutes to an hour. I know only of 1 place which is in Exeter township.

We are looking for some input as to where to ride. The place in Exeter is fun but full of 4x4 Truck ruts and our Scramblers are geting the SH#T kicked out of them (Bent control arm shafts, broken control arm bushings, worn swingarm bushings, loose wheel bearings ..etc). All the state trails worth going to are 4 hours or more away.

Thanks in advance.

Look north my friend to Schuykill county. Many miles of trails to ride on. Drive north on 61 into Pottsville and just drive around on any Sunday and look at where the trailers are parked. Do this without trailering your quads, just go for a Sunday ride in your vehicle. Spend a few hours and you will find lots of places. Remember it is mostly private land, abandoned and active coal strip mines. On Sundays you can ride without much hassle, ask the folks you see parked where the trails are.

Hope this helps.

There is a club in Towercity that leases around 12000 acres. It's worth
the membership, you can ride legally without fear of getting arrested or
fined. I try to getup there every other Sunday. It takes me an 1:45 to get there from coatesville. towercitytrailriders.com

Hey thanks for the tips!! Jaybo, I think Coatesville is near Downingtown, right? That means I am probably more like 1hour to 1hour 15min away or so from there which would be cool. Are the trails good? Are there hill climbs? Are there places that its ok to open the suckers up safely?

I think 1:15 sounds about right. The trails are very rocky in many places, but there are old coal mining roads you can open it up on.
Hill climbs are scattered around and some can be steep. I would suggest
gps because finding your way back can be tough. If your interested in
going some time let me know. It is $20 to go in as a guest which I
think can be credited toward a membership. You must go in with a member.
There is a diner you ride to for lunch. Ride about 30-40 miles each time
I go up.
