blaster question about air intake

Hey i was just wonderin on my 94 blaster when it is in the 80 degrees outside my blaster dosent run good and when i take the airbox lid off it seems to run fine. do u have any suggestions and would it be fione to ride around with it off when its that hot? thanx

Its a jetting thing. When the temp rises, it makes the air thinner, which in turn makes it run richer. By removing the air box lid, you are allowing more air to flow through, thereby fixing the problem without having to opn up the carb to rejet. It is fine to run it without the lid, many people do it to increse airflow, ehich increases power. Just make sure you do a plug chop to see if it isn't running lean.
