I'm looking at different brands of paddles for my '01 DS. I am running 23" holeshot XCT's on the front, so I don't want to go too small in back with paddles. I will probably stay away from Skat trak's because a buddy of mine continually battles flats, and I think that the "carcass" of the tires is too thin. Has anybody tried the Kenda Dunerunners in a 22x11x10 size (they actually measure about 21&quot? How about the GBC Sand Sharks (a "V" paddle that measures out at about 20&quot? Any tire-to-footguard clearance problems? Thanks in advance!

NO SAND SHARKS! These have got to be about the worst paddle tire made. The traction is terrible, and they like to dig holes and stuck your DS.

Sand Skate II's are pretty nice if you want that style of tire.

Does anyone make a 22x11x9 V shaped paddle tire? I'd really like to use my stock rims which I feel are perfect for duning without the renforcing rings.

Has anyone in this forum experienced both V shaped and straight paddles on a DS? I'm curious to know just how much difference there is between the two for recreational riding.

I can tell you which paddle NOT to use on a DS: The Kenda Trakker 20x12x9. These low budget V shaped paddles appear to be (I have never measured) about 18" tall, and are definatly a VERY low profile. They allow little to no ground clearance and you'll spend your entire day digging yourself out of holes. I also heard from a friend who rides a Banshee that they don't hook up nearly as well as other paddles seemingly due to the paddle itself being rather soft. If anyone has a smaller non-DS650 ATV that need some paddles for a good price, let me know

20" tires are a little too small for good traction on a quad as heavy as a DS. They tend to bury themselves. I recomend the 22" and then gear down if you need to.

I'd say stay away from the 20x11x9 8 paddle haulers. I have a set of 20x11x10 8 paddle haulers on my Mojave, and they are perfect for that 250cc 4 stroke. The profile on them isn't quite 20" either - they look like they'ed measure between 18-19". (Slightly larger than the Kenda Trakkers I had on my DS.)

So I should try a 22 & guess it might be 21inches ??? & take it as that?
Any other paddles to choose from that work good on a mild DS?
