I whent to change the oil in my ds for the first time last nite and the oil filter my dealer gave me waws the wrong one. It looked the same but was 1/4 inch to short. All of my reserch on the net has showed that the one he gave me was the corect one but it is not. The stock oil filters are made by champion and the part number is on the fillter that was in the machine was rb x339 The number for the fillter that is suposodly suposed to fit is rbx338. Any help would be greatly apreciated. This is the first time the oil has been changed in the machine, it is an 01 model. Thanks

 

I am sure you have the filter for 2000 DS.
My machine is a 2000,the one that fits is RB-X338.
The 2001 filter is longer than the 2000.
