I had a raptor for exactly a year and never had a problem with it. Jumped it, raced it, drowned it, rolled it, cased it, flipped it. You name it, I did it....never a single problem. Traded it for a 2002 Grizz. I now have 12 whole hours on it and I split a boot on the right rear CVjoint. No warranty as it is a wear and tear problem. Does this make sense!? Anybody else have this. I don't feel like dropping $202 bucks to clean out the u joint and put in a new boot everytime I ride!!

That's the first I've heard of it. Must just have been unfortunate and got something up in there to tear the bellow (boots). I can't believe it's going to cost $200. All CV joints are made by auto companies. I believe Yamaha uses Subaru CVs.

Go to your auto parts store and get one that can be installed without removing/disassebling the CV. Clean it out good, repack and install the split boots.

If you prefer the single (non-split) boots, you can also get it from auto parts store and I'll try to assist you in do it yourself method. Keep us posted.
