my 400 was burnin tons of oil and low on compression so i decided to get the 11:1 wiseco .040" over but no 1 has them. i work at the local shop and none of our people had 1 in stock and neither did wiseco so i decided to go with the je 10.6-1 040 over

was this a good choice?

the wiseco was backorered for atleast 2 weeks and i need to ride now

I use that piston in my 400EX and have been happy with it. I can run premium pump gas in it without any knocking. I think JE pistons are better made than Wiseco pistons too.

Its good to know 10.6:1 runs on premium! Do you guys lose any bottom end power running this compression over stock?

Higher compression will give you more bottom end. To benefit most from a high compression piston you will want a new camshaft too. If you want strong bottom end power there are camshafts that emphasize low end to mid range power.
