I ordered a standard bore 11:1 wiseco piston and some other parts for my 1998 300ex. When they arrived today, some of the parts were the wrong one. My piston says it's for a 300ex and a standard bore but how can I be sure it's a 11:1 ratio? It doesn't say 11:1 on the box or the piston. Please help me, cause it would be alot of trouble to install something that's not even the correct part! Thanks!

 

I bought a 11:1 for a friends XR200R, it was much differnt on the top as it had deep valve releif pockets as the Wiseco was much taller ( 1/8th inch) yours should also look differnt on the top when compaired to stock.

 

i ordered one for my 300ex 10.5:1 and it didnt say it on the box..but if you look at it, the thing looks totally different . like the guy above me said it has a few pockets on top and stands a little taller

 

Hey A.J. how much of a power gain could you tell from your piston...mine is in the shop right now getting the 11:1 put in. What kind of gains can I expect?

 

couldnt tell ya man...i get mine out thursday....i am putting a cam, valve springs and piston on so i wont be able to tell just what the piston did. i will let you know how they all work togather though. From what i hear my set-up will be just a few HP shy of a 330 kit. somewhere between 26-32 HP. I am going to have it dynoed after the first of the month just to know for sure.
