I removed the top of the carbs yesterday to adjust the height of the needle. Once I had the diaphram that holds the needle out, I was afraid to mess with it. It did not seem to want to mome out so I put it back in. How do you remove the needle and raise it one notch?

Don't raise the needle. The stock needle has the wrong taper and will only perform in the stock setting. If you move the height, your power will suffer.

I spent many hours setting my carbs to get them spot on and was very hard! Your best bet is to get a jet kit from KNN Dynojett makes it.I put this kit in and bang it is right on!The key is the smaller needle they give you!! Skydog

I agree with Sky, I have spent hours on the dyno with the exhaust sniffer. Moving the stock needles will hurt perf. Although the Dyna kit is too expensive, it seems as if they have the market cornered.
