After several events of getting bucked of my Raptor. And hearing other Raptor owners complaining about the stock width & riding height.

I finally changed out my Raptor as follows:

I started out with new 20x11x9 rear Razor’s and a 6 ply XGT’s front tires, which added 6 lbs to assist in keeping the front end down. I bend my existing rims and bought new OMF with inner rings. (See Pictures).

Next the Lonestar axle. Marty from the Quad Shop was great assistance over the phone and only took about 20 minutes to replace the axle. Basically any body can do it.

1. Loosen & remove the axle nut.
2. Remove the hubs from the axle.
3. Loosen the chain.
4. Tap the axle to the left, keeping the brake assembly and sprocket still on the swing arm.
5. Pack the sprocket & brake assembly with bearing grease.
6. Slide the new axle in.
7. Adjust the width by placing the spacer either on the inner or outer of the hub.
8. Tighten the axle nuts down and use locktight.
9. Tighten the chain and you’re off.

Total width of my Raptor is 48 inches from outside edge of tires.
I lowered it a total of 3 inches by using Work’s Banshee shocks rather than a lowering kit. and measure 29 inches from the ground to the bottom of the grab bar.
Plenty of travel and does not bottom out.

I claim to be no expert, and just wanted to share my little project with everybody, that is thinking of lowering his or her Raptor. Please feel free ask questions.
It handles like an indy car and did not affect the suspension travel height.

Nicely Done!! The Banshee shocks are a very clever solution. Add Rezzies when you get the dough. I really like the wheels too. Is it 48" wide up front too?

Both front and rear tires match exactly at 48" on the leading edge of the tires.

I got lucky, but fear I will never get between trees on tight trails.
