I currently use 1.5" wide spacers on the front & they work fine but I was thinking of adding another .75" per side probably w/ offset rims which equals 2.25" per side increase so I should be at 50". Has anyone had any problems going this wide? The wider you go in the front the more the front struts want to fold in half but it will also provide up to 2" more travel plus also will lower the front. I didn't do the trig yet to get exact amounts. I worried it might be too much for the studs or something.
Thanks

Hey Jim,
I too run the 1.5 spacers w/ Titanium studs (no surprise,Bad Boyz reference) The stock studs are grade 5, maybe if you do that mod step up to grade 8. Just a thought.

Jim,

If you only want to go about 3/4" wider on either side, look into the Aaen or Hot Seat A-arms. Of course you'll probably have to lose the front wheel drive, but it will get the front of your machine wider. Just a thought.

Jim, how do you plan to add two more inches of travel and lower the front end?

If you move the wheel out from the lower strut mount (keep stock A-arms) you will increase wheel travel. Like I said I didn't take measurements but lets say the pivot of the A-arm to the center of the wheel is 18" w/ 9" of travel(guess w/works shocks) then sine of 9/18=.5 is 30* so if the wheel moved out 2 more inches now sin30*=opp/20" so now travel is 10".

If you use a longer A-arm or move the lower stut mounting out w/ the wheel then you will lower the front. Image if you added a really long A-arm now your strut would be sticking almost straight out the side of the quad on each side so the front end would drop. This is an exageration but you get my point.
