Yesterday, me and one of my friends from school decided we wanted to go riding (we had a half day) so we loaded his dirtbike, and my fourwheeler up and went out to one of my other friends land and started to ride. Anyway, the whole trip out there, my friend decided to enlighten me on why dirtbikes are so much better than quads. I listened and smiled cause it really was funny. The strongest point (in his mind atleast) was that anyone with half a brain could ride a fourwheeler, because they are not that hard to ride, and you wouldnt ever have to worry about flipping it (as opposed to a dirtbike) Well, after we have been riding for about an hour or so, i mention switching machines and he agrees. (I used to ride dirtbikes with him when I had a bike, so he knows i can ride them) Well anyway, we go out into an open field and just put around, i do a few wheelies on his dirtbike and he trys to do a doughnut on my fourwheeler and flips it. Im like, "hmmmmmm, I thought that these things were so easy to ride, why did you wreck?" he got really mad and chalenged me to a race through the woods so we do, and i beat him, i beat him bad, until i realized he hadnt came out of the woods yet. About two minutes pass and i go in there, and he has flipped the thing on himself again. Geez, he keeps wrecking my machine. So finally, i go "switch me before you kill yourself." I think he learned a lesson that day.

the trick is to make a four wheeler ride mostly on 2 wheels

I have found that I'm better at riding a four-wheeler on two wheels than I am at riding a dirtbike on two wheels.

 

I think i really surprised my self that i still could ride a dirtbike, and i think i surprised him too. He has a brand new yz125 and i love that bike. we were riding in a bean field (where he was doing the doughnuts) and i told him, ride a wheelie on my fourwheeler and he tried and couldnt even get the font end up a bit, and he goes, i bet you cant do any better on my dirtbike, so i rode one through three gears and it was awesome. What I am thinking i would like to do is sell my 400ex, and get a used blaster, used xr250, and a used utility. It would be so great to have all three. I love my 400ex, but i have more money in my fourwheeler than i do my car. Maybe i should start a new topic........

 

dereckhonda- you are a true sport. I would be pissed if my friend wrecked my quad even once.

maybe you'll get a kick out of this. i let my friend that i go to races with (he rides a blaster normally) ride my 400. this is the first time he has ever rode one and i told him you can do whatever just don't hurt my baby. so whats the first thing he does? he goes up this big jump that you should get lots of practice on first cuz its a very weird one (it goes up at an angle and you gotta land at an angle) and launches off it. he was goin faster than i usually go up it. the quad nose dives, the bumper slams into the ground he goes over the bars and the quad rolls upside down. funny thing is i wasn't even really mad cuz it looked cool.
