I have a 400EX with a 440 kit and a FMF exhaust on it. The exhaust comes out equal to the end of the grab bar and I would like to cut about 2 inches off of the exhaust so that I can put on a different grab bar that is wider and lower than what is on there now. By cutting the exhaust will I lose power on the low end and gain some on the top or will it be not worth the effort?

 

dont cut the muffler
cut the pipe where it fits onto the muffler like where the join and weld it back I thank but not sure that it will give you a little low end but not much

just get a shorty exhaust like HMF, its even better then FMF
